Perhaps you have some general questions, or you may be struggling with sore nipples, a plugged duct, a baby who is fussy at the breast or you need some help figuring out your pump and bottles, whatever it may be, sometimes a new Mama just needs some extra support with breastfeeding.

 

As a Lactation Consultant, I provide a thorough assessment and gentle guidance for an effective and individualized feeding plan, as well as identifying and troubleshooting obstacles, and making any necessary referrals.

 

A typical consultation includes:

• Discussion of questions, concerns and breastfeeding goals

• Assessment of Mother and Baby’s health histories.

• Assessment of Baby’s oral anatomy and a Suck Assessment

• Assessment of a Breastfeeding session

• Assistance with positioning and latch

• A comprehensive individualized plan of care 

• Referrals to other health care providers or community resources as necessary

• A written summary of our visit along with handouts and links to helpful videos

• Brief follow up phone calls and texts are included free of charge.​

I would love to support you in meeting your breastfeeding goals.  I offer home visits to new families, as in the Lake Tahoe, Gardnerville and surrounding areas.  I do my best to see clients the same day or the following day, if a time is not listed on my calendar, please reach out via email or phone if you would like to schedule something sooner.
